The mission of Montessori Academy is to prepare students to be life-long learners and responsible citizens of the world community. Through the use of Montessori methods and philosophy, an individualized approach in multi-age groupings encourages developmentally appropriate learning of academics, and social and life skills. All children are given the freedom - in a structured environment that is nurturing, child-centered and supportive - to develop their gifts and pursue their interests while also learning the incumbent responsibilities.
Objectives
Montessori Academy continues its dedication to helping each child achieve it's potential by nurturing and stimulating that unique union of mind and body through academics, music, drama, art, movement, and practical life skills directed by dedicated staff in a setting prepared for learning.
The school uses the Montessori Method combined with the latest research in learning to create an environment where children experience the joy of learning; the excitement of sudden intuitive leaps in understanding and the pride of accomplishment. The carefully planned, stimulating environment helps children develop within themselves an excellent foundation for creative learning. The learning materials have been designed to provide a wide variety of learning experiences geared to the developmental needs of young children. The learning involved in handling, manipulating and working with these materials is fascinating and absorbing for the young child. When engaged in these well-structured tasks and in exploratory activities, the child experiences a deep inner satisfaction, which leaves him or her with an overall positive attitude.

Contact the office for detailed enrollment information, or visit one of our campuses.
Enrollment applications are accepted from January through July for the following academic year.
Children that are incoming to the Toddler program must be 18 months old by the start of school in September (toilet training is not a requirement for admission).
The ideal student is a good citizen who is respectful. MAB seeks to create and maintain a student body consisting of students with varying capabilities who will flourish and add to the Montessori environment and community.
For younger applicants, the perceived ability to adapt to Montessori methods, as well as behavior, is critical to a student’s admission.
Factors in acceptance:
Preference to siblings, then transfer students from other Montessori schools, then students new to MAB.
Age and gender distribution in the classroom
Family Commitment (as outlined in the application letter).
During the re-enrollment period (usually January 15 through February 15) spaces are held for currently enrolled students and their siblings.
If the school has full enrollment the applicants' names are placed on a waiting list. As space becomes available, the administration notifies the parents and proceeds with the next step of the enrollment process.
Only under very special circumstances would new students be accepted after March 1 for the current school year.
