Infants, Toddlers and Young Montessorians

Our Infants program (8 weeks – 18 months) provides a nurturing environment that encourages natural development, sensory exploration, and social-emotional growth. Our Toddler classroom (18 months – 2.5 years)  is a warm and stimulating environment that nurtures independence, curiosity, and a love for learning. Designed to support each child’s natural development, it encourages exploration at their own pace. Finally, the Young Montessorian classroom is designed for older toddlers (2.5 – 3.5 years) as they prepare to transition into the Preschool and Kindergarten levels.

Our curriculum

Guided by Dr. Maria Montessori’s insight into the powerful brain development that occurs from birth to age three, our curriculum nurtures each child’s natural curiosity, self-confidence, and intrinsic motivation.

Infant classroom environment

At our Infants School in Florida, youngest learners take the first steps through the authentic Montessori Infant Curriculum, which includes:

  • Practical Life (Early Independence): infants learn early routines such as handwashing, self-feeding, and care of their environment in age-appropriate ways
  • Sensorial Exploration: infants explore a variety of textures, sounds, and objects to develop sensory awareness, curiosity, and concentration
  • Language Development: teachers model rich spoken language, read aloud daily, sing songs, and engage in one-on-one conversations to build vocabulary and listening skills
  • Motor Development (gross and fine): the classroom provides safe space for tummy time, crawling, and early walking, along with grasping and hand–eye coordination activities
  • Social–Emotional Development: infants build trust and security through consistent caregivers, daily routines, and warm, responsive interactions
  • Music & Movement: simple instruments, rhythm play, and guided movement support children's ability to recognize sound and mindful movement
  • Outdoor Exploration: daily outdoor time allows infants to experience fresh air, light, and nature in a secure, developmentally appropriate environment.

Toddler classroom environment

At our Toddlers School in Florida, children continue their growth through Montessori learning, designed to support each child's development and encourage exploration at their own pace through:

  • Practical Life (Independence Skills): toddlers practice dressing, pouring, cleaning, table washing, food prep, and caring for their environment
  • Sensorial Development: activities with color, size, texture, sound, and shape materials help toddlers refine perception
  • Language Development: vocabulary enrichment, storytelling, object naming, songs, conversations, and early pre-reading skills support expressive and receptive language
  • Grace & Courtesy: children learn manners, turn-taking, sharing, collaboration, and peaceful conflict resolution through modeled behaviors
  • Early Math Concepts: sorting, counting, and matching introduce foundational math skills in a concrete, hands-on way
  • Motor Development (fine and gross): practical life strengthens fine-motor skills, while outdoor environments support gross motor skills through climbing, balancing, and coordinated movement
  • Art & Creativity: open-ended art experiences such as painting, gluing, stamping, and drawing allow toddlers to explore process, color, and self-expression
  • Cultural & Nature Exploration: toddlers engage with nature objects, seasonal themes, and simple geography and science activities that build awareness of the world around them.

Toddlers begin daily enrichment sessions in Spanish, Yoga, Science, Music, Dress-Up, and Drama.

Young Montessorians classroom environment

Older toddlers learn through hands-on materials, purposeful activities, and individualized lessons that “follow the child,” building confidence, independence, and the foundational skills they need as they transition into Preschool and Kindergarten through:

  • Practical Life: independence, confidence, and coordination are built through real-life activities
  • Sensorial: children refine their senses and classify the world around them
  • Mathematics: numbers and early operations are introduced through concrete, hands-on materials
  • Language: teachers guides children from letter sounds toward writing and early reading at their own pace
  • Geography: children understand the world, cultures, and environments through exploration
  • Art: creativity, expression, and fine-motor development are encouraged through meaningful projects.

Daily enrichment

Daily enrichment classes in Spanish, Yoga, Science, Music, Dress-Up, and Drama deepen and extend each child’s learning experience beyond the core Montessori curriculum. These sessions invite learners to explore new languages, move their bodies with purpose, investigate the world around them, and express themselves creatively through sound, movement, and imaginative play.

By engaging different interests and learning styles, enrichment activities help children build confidence, curiosity, and joy in learning, while strengthening skills such as focus, communication, and collaboration.

Our Montessori learning approach

Our classroom environment

The classroom is a loving, nurturing, and carefully prepared space, designed especially for young children to feel secure, curious, and confident. Calm, organized, and uncluttered, it invites them to explore at their own pace and follow their natural passion for discovery and learning.

Our learning approach

At our Infants School in Florida, learning begins in a carefully prepared environment designed by Montessori-certified teachers to support every aspect of a child’s development. In these early years, children learn by observing and exploring experiences that are thoughtfully introduced according to their readiness. By manipulating Montessori materials, children build language, visual discrimination, concentration, and coordination, while developing independence, order, and strong cognitive skills.

Daily interactions with teachers and peers nurture social and emotional growth, as children learn to communicate, respect, share, and collaborate, laying the foundation for compassion, acceptance, and confident, lifelong learning.

Our Montessori learning approach

There are so many things I love about Montessori–from little things like EVERY teacher knowing EVERY child and their parents (and sometimes grandparents) by name to the safe, clean and professional learning environment they with all the tools they could want to prosper in their academic life, at their own pace.
