At Montessori Academy of Broward, our mission is to prepare students not just for the next grade, but for the world ahead—high school, college, career, and life.

Our alumni go on to become thinkers, leaders, and changemakers—and Patrick Ong, Class of 2013, is no exception.

Patrick began his Montessori journey in 2006 as a first grader at MAB. Today, he’s thriving in the fast-paced world of tech sales—a path he traces back to the confidence, independence, and love of learning sparked during his time here.

A Love for Learning

Patrick thrived academically at MAB, particularly in math. He credits much of that passion to his teacher and our current Middle School Principal, Ms. Dina, whose guidance made the subject come alive. At Montessori Academy our educators are deeply committed to nurturing the whole child, and Patrick’s story is a testament to the lasting impact of those relationships.

Outside the classroom, Patrick was a familiar face in the school’s Chess Club and Drama Club, where he continued to explore his interests and build friendships.

“One of my favorite memories was performing in the Julius Caesar play. Our 7th and 8th grade classes worked together—we each had a role, helped build the set, practiced together, and shared lots of laughs along the way. It was a fun and collaborative experience”

At MAB, experiences like this are more than just fun—they’re opportunities for students to build confidence, work together, and learn in dynamic, hands-on ways.

Prepared for the Next Step—and Beyond

After leaving Montessori Academy, Patrick attended Archbishop McCarthy High School—his top choice school. He felt well-prepared, thanks to the solid academic foundation built at MAB, especially in reading comprehension and math. But beyond academics, it was the emphasis on independent thinking, collaboration, and self-directed learning that truly set him up for success.

“Montessori prepared me by encouraging collaboration, independent learning, and working closely with classmates. That model helped me develop those skills from an early age,” Patrick shares.

His academic journey continued at Nova Southeastern University, and today he works in Tech Sales. He enjoys connecting with people and solving problems in this line of work, and shares that MAB laid a foundation that influenced the values he holds now.

As he reflects on his time at Montessori Academy, Patrick shares heartfelt advice for current and future students:

“[Montessori Academy] helped shape me into someone who isn’t afraid to meet new people and build close relationships. It also taught me how to think for myself. Enjoy your time here, make friends, and lean into the resources that are available to you.”

Patrick, we’re so proud of the person you’ve become. Your journey is a beautiful reflection of what it means to grow up with a Montessori mindset—curious, capable, and confident. We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!
